About the Author

Tina Hollenbeck is a researcher, freelance writer, and speaker specializing in topics related to parenting and home education.

She owns The Homeschool Resource Roadmap, which provides current and prospective home-educating parents with summative information about more than 3,600 homeschool-oriented resource companies in over 300 different content areas. She also owns The N.E.W. Scoop, a free database of resources available to home educators in and around the community in which she lives.

From November 2008 through June 2018, Tina blogged at Being Made New. And since 2006, she has been the volunteer staff writer for Celebrate Kids, Inc., a Texas-based ministry founded by Dr. Kathy Koch. She writes articles for the ministry's free email newsletter and has also co-authored - along with Dr. Koch and Brad Sargent - a booklet entitled Celebrating Children's 12 Genius Qualities.

Additionally, she is a regular contributor to Learning Tangent Magazine, a quarterly publication for home-educating parents. And, though she no longer guest-posts as a matter of policy, she has contributed occasional pieces to several other publications, including Annie and EverythingJill Savage's blog (with links to the Hearts at Home website); Hip Homeschool Moms; and email newsletters published by The Old Schoolhouse Magazine.

She is a past contributor to the now-defunct women's ministry newsletter at Spring Lake Church, where she served as its Mothering Moments columnist; the {Hope for the Home} series at Worthy of the Prize; and The Chatterbee, the original website for those who use All About Spelling and other All About Learning Press products.

Pieces she has written for the above venue are archived here on Tina's Take on Things using the following abbreviations located in the bottom right corner of each post:
